Rooted Reality for coding agents is a small recorder and a desktop app. It shows which agent chats are open and the programs each one runs, what is still running after a chat ended, and where the agents’ programs connected from your Mac.

The first version is for Mac, and its private beta is forming now.

It is beta software, and the record can be incomplete. The recorder may miss programs and connections that last only a moment, and it may show some things late.

During the beta, Rooted Reality for coding agents is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise that the record is complete, accurate or up to date. It can miss programs, connections and file changes, and it may not tell you when it has missed something. Don’t rely on the record as the only account of what happened on your Mac.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost data or profits, that comes from using the beta or acting on the record. To the same extent, our total liability to you for the beta is limited to what you paid us for it, which during the beta is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn’t let us limit.

The beta doesn’t ask for an account, a license key or payment details.

What it shows, and what it doesn’t

The record is what the recorder observed. It isn’t proof of what a program did, or why. The desktop app doesn’t stop programs for you; what to do about what it shows stays your call.

Use it to see what coding agents do on a Mac you own or are allowed to use this way. Don’t install or use it to observe another person’s use of a computer without their knowledge and consent. If the computer belongs to your employer or a client, follow their policies. You’re responsible for the record on your Mac, including anything in it about other people. Don’t use it in breach of the law.

Rooted Reality for coding agents isn’t meant for anyone under 18.

How you accept these terms

When you first open the desktop app, it shows these terms and our privacy policy and asks you to agree before you use it. It keeps a note on your Mac of which version you agreed to and when; that note isn’t sent to us. If we change these terms in a way that matters, the app asks you again before you carry on.

• Your license to use the recorder and the desktop app, and the third-party software they include
• Feedback you send us during the beta
• How the beta ends, and what happens to the app then
• Pro purchase terms, including refunds, and whether anything stays free alongside Pro
• Terms for the planned phone ping

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about them will be heard in the state or federal courts in Michigan. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts or under your own law, these terms don’t take that away.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll publish the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top of it. If a change is material, we’ll also email the people on our waitlist, and anyone on our update list who hasn’t unsubscribed, when we publish it. If you keep using Rooted Reality for coding agents after the new version takes effect, it applies to you.
