House Bill 102, "Protecting kids from deepfakes and exploitative images" (House Enrolled Act No. 32, 2026 Budget Session), was signed by Governor Gordon in March 2026 and defines "synthetic sexual material" as content created or altered through an artificial intelligence system or another digital method to realistically depict a person's intimate parts. Based on public records, the nonconsensual-synthetic-material offense (W.S. 6-4-307) carries up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, while separate provisions specifically criminalize using AI to generate child pornography and possessing AI-generated child sexual abuse material.
