Why this status

Idaho enacted the Stop Harms from Addictive Social Media Act (H 542) in 2026. For children 16 and younger, large platforms must switch off addictive design features — infinite scroll, autoplay, push notifications, and engagement metrics — and obtain verifiable parental consent before providing an account.
