On March 5, 2026, Michigan AG Dana Nessel filed a civil enforcement action against Kalshi in Ingham County Circuit Court, alleging Kalshi operates an unlicensed sports betting platform in violation of the Michigan Lawful Sports Betting Act. Michigan was the second state to sue Kalshi without first issuing a cease-and-desist letter.
