Why this status

On April 7, 2025, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) sent cease-and-desist letters to Kalshi, Robinhood, and Crypto.com directing them to stop offering trading on sports events without a state license. The MLGCC's position was upheld August 1, 2025 when U.S. District Judge Adam Abelson denied Kalshi's motion for a preliminary injunction in Kalshiex LLC v. Martin (D. Md. 1:25-cv-01283).
